Abstract
So you want to move closer to implementing the 12factor.net recommendations, but not sure where to start? In this session you will be introduced to Consul, the “Swiss Army Knife” of implementing several software as a service principles and how Spring Cloud Consul can be used to integrate some of those into your Java based services. The attendee should walk away with an understanding of consul, how to get started, and how to use Spring to manage things like properties and service discovery.
Bio
David Lucas is the owner of Lucas Software Engineering, Inc. and consults in the Central Ohio area. He has been performing various software engineering roles over the last 25 years to include some with local Fortune 500 companies. His passion has been around the Java and Spring platform and most recently has become a Kotlin enthusiast. He has presented at local and national user groups and is a member of the ACM. He lives in Ohio with his wife and three children.
